Challenger Baseball is an important part of the Plainview Little League. Challenger provides a baseball environment for children with Special Needs. Officially, ages vary from five to twenty-one, but we generally get kids from five to thirteen or fourteen. We would love to get more older kids. The kids are assisted by coaches or buddies (kids helping out). The adults pitch to the kids and anything goes regarding running the bases and fielding the balls that are hit. Everyone has a good time. This league is run entirely by volunteers and always welcomes community participation. Players from Little League are urged to come down on game day to assist the Challenger players and join in the fun. Games take place on Sunday mornings at the Plainview Town Park on Washington Avenue. The Division Director is Gary Feit Volunteers are always needed |
