Challenger
Challenger Division
Challenger Baseball is an important part of the Plainview Little League. Challenger provides a baseball environment for children with Special Needs. The children are assisted by coaches and “buddies.” The buddies are typically children from baseball or softball leagues. The adults pitch to the children and anything goes regarding running the bases and fielding the balls that are hit. It is a non-competitive league – no score is kept and everyone bats and plays the field in this two or three-inning game.
• Spring Season – first Sunday in April through end of June
• Fall Short Season – first Sunday after Labor Day in September through end of October
• Open to Plainview and Non-Plainview residents
• No cost to join the league
• Ages from 5 to 35+
